This past week my mother’s condition with hospice has changed from palliative care to end of life. Yesterday the hospice MD had given my mother a 2 to 3 week life expectancy, changed her pain meds to morphine, and my siblings tell me she has stopped eating, drinking, and is no longer talking.
I am at peace with my mother and her end of life, and am grateful for the visit I had with her in August.
At this point my plan is to head up after she passes. It is likely that it will be Steph and I heading up to Ohio after we know the final funeral arrangements.
Right now I don’t expect anything coming up to keep me from being there Sunday, so I will be able to update you all then, too.
I’m praying my mother passes peacefully and my siblings will be at peace with themselves and this transition in our family.
