This coming Sunday, October 3, 2021 we will open to Matthew 26:1-30.
Matthew 26 is a long chapter with 75 verses and we will take two weeks of study in it, getting into Matthew 26:31-75 on the following Sunday, October 10th. In Matthew 26 covers Judas agreeing to betray Jesus, Jesus in Getsemane, Jesus’ Arrest, Jesus’ trial before the Sanhedrin, and Peter’s denial of Jesus.
We’ll also have some breakfast type foods, like an Apple Coffee Cake, Blueberry Muffins, Chocolate Brownies, and maybe some other items.
I’m looking forward to seeing you, as you are able, and going through these final 3 chapters of Matthew dealing with the final days of Jesus’ ministry before His ascension.
Revelation — We will jump into the book of Revelation on either October 31 or November 7, depending on how we do with these final 3 chapters in Matthew. I’ll keep you updated. When we do get into Revelation my plan is to give attention to the gospel in its context and point out some differing points of interpretation.
Grief Group — We are preparing to start a Grief Support Group at the Chapel that will be open to the public. Right now we are tentatively talking about starting in November on Thursday evenings from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. I’m still working out some of the details but while I will be facilitating the group, I will also be drawing from some professionally developed material, popular with hospital chaplain led grief support groups, and making use of video presentations and a guidebook. The group will be open to those whose loss is a spouse, family member, or a friend and the loss may be been recent or decades ago. If someone is struggling with coping we want to help them live again. Stay tune for more details.
