Former Adventist Fellowship
If you are a former, inactive, or questioning Seventh-day Adventist who is trying to sort out doctrines or issues unique to the SDA faith, our Former Adventist Fellowship may be of help.
I am the pastor of CrossHope Chapel and a former SDA minister (my story is here) who is always happy to talk with those who are where I once was.
The problem that concerns me is that former Adventist have a high rate of religious non-involvement after leaving their church/denomination than does the typical Bible believing Christian. This ought not to be the case, because Satan is more than happy for you to resist Christian fellowship over non-salvation differences.
Our Former Adventist Fellowship gatherings are not about bashing the SDA church or corning anyone into hearing proof texts. I lead the groups and there is a lot t respect and admire about the Seventh-day Adventist church. I am still very passionate about the Blessed Hope.
Our Former Adventist Fellowship group is a safe place where you have opportunity to ask questions and make your own decisions on doctrines or involvement with any church in fellowship.
Our Former Adventist Fellowship gathering does not argue doctrine, compare proof texts, or get buried in theological opinions, although there are times when in order to answer questions we will look at the Bible and talk doctrine.
Next Fellowship Gathering: TBA
The Former Adventist Fellowship gathering at CrossHope Chapel, led by Pastor Steve Durkac, a former minister with the Carolina Conference and the Gullf States Conference, is about giving opportunity for questions to be asked, pastoral care issues to be discussed without criticism or condemnation, to learn how others are dealing with their lifestyle adjustments in other evangelical churches, help in returning to the local SDA fellowship with a closer walk with your Lord Jesus Christ, ways to not neglect building a relationship with the Savior regardless of your current or post involvement in the Seventh-day Adventist church.
Want to Talk?
If you want to talk, please contact me. I am happy to meet with you at our Chapel or an area coffee shop, if you are in the Gulf Coast area. I am also happy to talk with you over the phone, too.
I have no interest in degrading or listing fault and flaws of the SDA church. In fact, I am grateful that our Lord led me to and through the SDA church and ministry to where I am now, in nondenominational church ministry with CrossHope Chapel.
I am happy to offer you an opportunity to discuss your questions and thoughts about your SDA story, sorting out the SDA sub-culture, applications of SDA doctrines you may still hold close, or understanding biblical Christianity outside the walls of your SDA experience.
If you would like to talk more, please contact me.
