Let’s talk about toiletry items and Bibles for the ladies at Metro…
The Chaplain’s Office of Mobile County Metro Jail has issued a list of items suitable and needed. We will begin collecting these items, as we each have them to give, and J.P. will be able to deliver them at some point when she is already heading down that way to minister in teaching through the Chaplain’s Office and with the ladies at Metro.
We should have a box available at the Chapel soon so we can all contribute items as we have them or get them by leaving them in a box.
If these items are things that you don’t have or don’t foresee yourself ever having, no problem. If you see them at Dollar Store or have family who may wish to contribute, that’s great, too.
J.P. will be able to asses the items and make sure they are acceptable before delivering them to Metro.
On to Bibles for Metro…
As CrossHope Chapel, together, we are wanting to purchase some Bibles by the case to donate to Metro, but those we are planning on purchasing as a church and having them shipped direct to the Chaplains Office.
If someone you know wants to make a financial contributions to help cover the Bibles we will order and donated to Metro, they can make a check payable to “CrossHope Chapel” and can note in the Memo space on a check Bibles or Metro. Our church is certainly in a good position to simply pay out of our general fund in its contribution of missions, so don’t feel like you have to go door to door on this.
We’ll be talking more about this Sunday, but please let me know if you have any questions.
