Here are the things mentioned by Payton for the Hope for Honduras boxes. Next Sunday we’ll put them together and I should have 20 plastic boxes to do this then, too. I am hoping to have the cork up on the prayer wall by Sunday, so we will likely have a day of packing boxes and prayer.
Here are Payton’s suggestions:
Batteries for Flashlights
Pens & pencils
Payton also just told me that if we get some girl things, like hair accessories, that will be fine too. These boxes will be delivered to elementary age school children, but the older boys are the ones who didn’t have the most stuff when they went this past summer.
The boxes are collected through Faith Academy in September and are shipped by cargo ship and stored at a missionary’s home until Payton and the team arrive in June. The advance collection has to do more with Faith Academy schedule and flexibility with the shipping cargo heading to Honduras.
