Pastoral Care Network

If you are not connected with a local body of Christ and you live within the Upper Gulf Coast region of Alabama, including the Mississippi Coast and the Emerald Coast of NW Florida, please consider joining the CrossHope Chapel Pastoral Care Network.

The Pastoral Care Network is an extension of the CrossHope Chapel church community with access to pastoral care ministry through online media and pastoral meetups.

     What It Is Not…

Our Pastoral Care Network is not a formal membership in a formal church organization. At CrossHope Chapel we do not have formal memberships. We belong to CrossHope Chapel because we are members of the family of God by virtue of being disciples of Jesus Christ together.

We are members by fellowship under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, by believing in faith in Jesus Christ as the only Savior and Way to eternity in heaven (Ephesians 2:4-9), in finding hope through the teachings of the Bible as the only authority in matters of beliefs and behaviors (Romans 15:4), and in having love for one-another as the ultimate witness of the Spirit-filled life and testimony to the true character of God (John 13:34-35).

   What It Is…

The Pastoral Care Network is an availability of pastoral care as needs arise and as you participate in the CrossHope Chapel church community through its online resources, prayer support, and pastoral meetups.

Prayer Support – Pastor Steve Durkac’s ministry is all about praying for CrossHope Chapel church and ministering God’s Word to them. Steve’s philosophy of ministry is from Acts 6:4 and Ephesians 4:11, which can happen at a distance or at least be more beneficial to your spiritual growth than not being involved in a local church at all. As part a Pastoral Care Network you have prayer support for your prayer requests to the pastor and/or the whole CrossHope Chapel church community.

Hospital Visitation – What if you end up in a Gulf Coast hospital, wouldn’t you want a minister that you are comfortable with and know, show up to offer prayer? Steve has a hospital chaplain background and usually travels along the Upper Gulf Coast for beach weddings so it is not a stretch for him to make this type of visit as it works in his schedule for our Pastoral Care Network members. He is also available to make contact through his ministerial network if a local pastor is needed to make that visit.

Bible Study Support – We have several online media outlets to help you study into the teaching of the Bible, like our Ask the Bible website and other means like YouTube for staying up on the current teaching at the Chapel in west Mobile, Alabama. In the Pastoral Care Network you can easily contact Pastor Steve direct with any question you may have regarding challenges in life or biblical understanding or referrals on study resources and ministries.

Bible Study Groups – If at some point you wish to start a Bible study gathering in your area, we can likely do that if there will be at least two people there for Steve to meet with or at least two people there wanting to start a group. There is no reason why we can’t have several small group gatherings across the Upper Gulf Coast either led by Steve or support in your leading or hosting at homes or local coffee spots.

What is the Price…

Everything has a price, but not everything has a financial cost. Our Pastoral Care Network does not have a financial cost but we have put a price tag on it, and that is three things:

1) We ask that you are an agreement with our Statement of Faith;

2) We ask that you familiarize yourself with our Governing Values.

3)  We ask that you join us in our journey through the Bible by email when you subscribe to our Daily Promise One-Minute Devotionals.

These three things are ways that we believe that our entire church community, both in west Mobile at CrossHope Chapel and extended Pastoral Care Network community can be on the same page together.

We would also encourage you to subscribe to our News & Notes email list. If you do social media, please connect with our church at Facebook and Twitter, and our pastor’s social media accounts at Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.

   How to Join…

You can join our Pastoral Care Network by agreeing with our Statement of Faith; familiarizing yourself with our Governing Values; joining with us in our journey through the Bible by email when you subscribe to our Daily Promise One-Minute Devotionals; then…you contact us to let Steve know that you now consider yourself part of the CrossHope Chapel Pastoral Care Network.

When you do let us know you are now part of the CrossHope Chapel Pastoral Care Network, if you give us your mailing address we will mail you a welcome gift.

The two most often asked questions are, “What if I don’t live in that area of the country?” and “What if I am a member of a congregation but want to join?” The answer to both questions is, Please join!

The ministry of prayer and the Word can happen by use of the internet as a supplement or a between seasons of life. While the most ideal situation is to have regular fellowship, our Pastoral Care Network is certainly a next best thing. Just our Daily Promise One-Minute Devotional is going to help you grow in your faith.

If you have any questions, please contact us.
