Closing the Chapel
Yesterday was a good day of fellowship, yet sad in some ways, because we had a family conversation about our future.
We will be closing the Chapel after we complete the five remaining studies in our series through the book of Revelation. It will likely be in August or September before we close our doors, depending on my work schedule for the months of June and July.
It has been a wonderful 11 years in our journey of New Testament simpler church and a season that the Lord certainly foreknew would run its course. The circumstances that brought us to this point were unexpected, which was the pandemic’s negative impact on our attendance and the financial changes in my family that led to employment in Pensacola and our move across the Bay.
I have found that often the Lord leads step by step without immediately explaining the full view of where He is leading. For this I have learned to follow knowing He’s working out the details to His glory and our betterment. For all of us, I am confident that the Lord who brought us each to CrossHope Chapel will not forsake us now because “he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6 NIV).
As I mentioned in an early email and as we discussed today, closing the Chapel will not be the complete end. We will transition into a community focus providing pastoral care support through occasional meetups, availability, email newsletter, devotionals, prayer request alert, etc.
Keep in eye out for future Community Emails that will announce meetups and additional news. Also, the study highlight from yesterday’s Revelation 14 study will go out later this week, too.
